Another Text to Audio:

<a href="http://spokentext.net/s_index.php" rel="nofollow">http://spokentext.net/s_index.php</a>

Works similar to Read the Words but is free. You have to download the file within a day or it will be deleted and you can only have 5 files at a time, but it's the price you pay for free.

I just started using tweeter and have found some people who share common interests in high school education. It is a great way to to learn and meet others. In one day, I was asked to be interviewed for my website http://www.morethangrades.com, a site dedicated to helping students show the best they have to offer when it comes to college admissions. Twitter also allows me to search for students who might be looking for scholarship money and for teachers who would love to help their students by letting colleges know what their students are really about but don't know how to get that information to the colleges.
Yea for twitter!

Thanks for the list of rules, Bryan. They're all so important, but I can't agree more with #8. I read my writing out loud all the time as I am editing it, and it really helps me with comma placement too, actually. For my classes I've found some great grammar and punctuation ebooks at http://www.dedicatedteacher.com that actually make it kind of fun to learn about semi-colons. At least that's what my students tell me.

I agree with your reservations regarding VLE's and PLE's, especially with the term "virtual". Collaborative is definitely the way to go with students and the rise of Web 2.0. I've found some good ebooks at http://www.dedicatedteacher.com regarding collaborative/cooperative learning that have helped me implement it in my classes.
